CPAP rental questions
Plain answers to what people ask before they rent.
Do I need a prescription to rent a CPAP?
Yes. CPAP is prescription therapy in the United States, so a rental needs a prescription from your doctor. If you do not have one yet, ask your doctor about a sleep study.
Can I choose my own pressure?
No. Your doctor prescribes the pressure or the pressure range. You can usually adjust comfort settings such as ramp time and humidity.
What is included in a rental?
A rental package typically includes the machine, tubing, a power supply and a mask. Filters and humidifier chambers are often available as add-ons. Ask on the form about your specific package.
How much does a rental cost?
Pricing questions go through the request form. Tell us the machine and how long you need it and we will reply by email.
How long can I rent?
Rentals run from a few days for travel to a few months while you wait on insurance or try a machine. Tell us your timeline on the form.
Is renting cheaper than buying?
Not for the long term. Renting costs more per month, but it asks for no large purchase up front. If you know CPAP works for you, buying usually costs less over a year or more.
How do I keep a rented machine clean?
Wipe the mask cushion daily. Wash the tubing and water chamber weekly. Use distilled water only, and replace filters on the schedule in the manual.
